NFL Recap: Broncos Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

During a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Broncos clinched a 13-11 win over the struggling New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz kicked the late go-ahead field goal to seal the hard-fought win.

Defensive Display Seals Contest

Despite recording nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after giving up a two-point play in the third quarter. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce just 82 offensive yards during the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's short kick with approximately five minutes left.

Record Struggles for Jets Attack

Despite their horrendous offensive display, the Jets still had possession with a opportunity to drive for a possible victory. However Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it rather than calling on kicker Nick Folk for a difficult kick.

Fields had difficulties throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets finished with minus-10 passing yards, the fewest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," Glenn commented following the game.
