Chopper Spirals Out of Control into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Coast
An aircraft flying near a crowded southern California shoreline abruptly started spinning out of control, finally dropping height and plunging into a row of palm trees as spectators watched.
Recordings shared on the internet capture the aircraft starting to spin above Huntington Beach then plunging near the perimeter of the shore, where it ends up lodged among palms and a staircase close to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Update
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five people were rushed to the hospital including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the crash on Saturday.
Three individuals on the pavement were injured. Specifics on their injuries were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
